Me, my fiance and my 1 year old daughter were in a car accident just 3 days ago. We were hit by a drunk driver who swerved into our lane. Our car is damaged (not sure how much to damage is going to cost). Thankfully, since we were all wearing our seatbelts, no one was seriously injured. Just scratches & bruises and now aches. I did not have insurance on my vehicle but the other driver had insurance (as so the cops said she told them, we did not get our police report yet). We also went to the hospital after the accident to get checked up on to make sure we had no broken bones. We also do not have any health insurance. I was just wondering, should we sue the drunk driver? and if so, what can we sue for. For the mere fact that she could've killed me and my family, I want this women to pay. I live in Milwaukee, WI. Who are some good lawyers i can be appointed to? What will it cost?
FYI "mark c" i do not mean "make her pay" as in $$, i meant have her prosecuted to the extent of her actions.

My uncle is county jail in california, he is being deported! will they go after his family? he wife is undocumented aswell, is she turning herself in by going to visit him and showing a passport?

I have a pre-trial coming up on the 26th for a DUI. My lawyer said I didnt have to show up as he will be representing me. I received a letter from the courts stating that it is Mandatory that i show up or my bail bond will be defaulted and a warrant issued for my arrest. I will not be in another state for vacation and my lawyer knows this. My question is, should I cancel my vacation and show up? or is my lawyer correct in telling me i dont have to be there?

If my brother got a DUI in Florida and his BAL at the hospital was a.278, what are the consequences?

But I don't understand it all. It's his first offense and he has no other kind of prior record. He can't afford a lawyer and the guy appointed to him has never tried a case. Any help is appreciated.

I live in NJ. The time for my license restoration is coming (end of June)– 9 month suspension so does that mean Sept 29 to June 29? Who can I call to make sure? What do I do on that day, get a ride to the DMV and just fill out some papers and get another license? Do I need special information (more than the 6 pts) or do they just renew my old one? I live in NJ so we don't have that sr 22 thing. I know the fee is a couple hundred$$.
Anyone have some info on this? Or where I can look? I keep finding DUI lawyers when I look online.
Also do I need to probably get progressive insurance? I used to be under my dad's insurance plan, but doing it myself now, so I am lost as to what I'm supposed to do…

In march 2007 I was arrested on suspicion of DUI. In July 2007 my lawyer got the DUI dropped and pleaded to misdemeanor reckless driving. I just graduated from college and am looking for jobs and some companies ask on forms if you've been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony other than a minor traffic violation. Would this reckless driving be considered a minor traffic violation, and will it show up on my background check?
